Birmingham nightclub shooting

One man was seriously injured, and three others received injuries during a shooting incident at a nightclub in Birmingham.

The emergency services arrived at about 03:00 BST with those at the scene saying that the people injured were three men and one woman.

The inquiry is underway at present, and in connection with the shooting, three people ranging from their 20s and 30s have been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder.

The suspects were found traveling in a car along the M6 in Warwickshire, West Midlands, Police have said, and are currently in custody.

Bristol Street, being one of the main roads towards the city centre, had been blocked by the police.

The southbound closure is operating from just north of Pagoda Island down to Bromsgrove Street and will presumably be under that status for quite some time.

Acting Ch Insp Michael Clarke urged those with information regarding the shooting to contact West Midlands Police.

“It happened in a crowded nightclub, one of the main roads out of Birmingham, so it is vital we are hearing from anybody witnessing this, or having captured it on dashcam whilst passing by,” said Clarke.

“Anyone in the club at the time who saw what happened must also come forward, and anyone with footage from inside the venue should get in touch with us immediately.”
