England set a new record for consecutive wins in any form of international rugby by getting the better of Scotland 40-8 in the quarter-final of the Women’s Rugby World Cup at Bristol.
The Red Roses had, in 2022, become the first-ever side to win 25 Tests consecutively by toppling Wales in a World Cup warm-up fixture at Ashton Gate with further 5 wins added to that record until they lost to New Zealand in the World Cup final later that same year.
Since that heartbreaking loss, England had never been defeated in a Test and they forged into uncharted territory this past Sunday with the 31st straight win.
Should the Red Roses lift the World Cup on September 27 at Twickenham, the record will then be taken to 33 Wins.
Before losing the latest World Cup final at Auckland, the Red Roses had previously lost to the Black Ferns in 2019.
Since then, England has not lost to any team except the reigning world champions-and the last such loss occurred when France defeated England in the Women’s Six Nations, in 2018.
As of 15 September, it is now 1,038 days that England has gone without losing a game.
