U.N commission said it found that Israeli authorities and security forces, “have committed and are continuing to commit the following actus reus of genocide against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, namely (i) killing members of the group; (ii) causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group; (iii) deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part; and (iv) imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group.”

The commission added “the Israeli authorities and Israeli security forces have had and continue to have the genocidal intent to destroy, in whole or in part, the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.”


The report stated Israel had to stop its genocide activities in the Gaza Strip and establish an indefinite ceasefire which would permit unrestricted humanitarian aid access to Palestinian territory. The report demanded all United Nations member nations to take every possible action available to stop the genocide in the Gaza Strip by halting their arms and equipment shipments to Israel.

Several scholars together with international human rights groups and Israeli human rights organizations have accused Israeli forces of genocide against Palestinians living in Gaza.

The International Association of Genocide Scholars published a resolution during August which identified the Israeli military operations in Gaza since the start of the 22-month conflict as genocide and war crimes and crimes against humanity. Israeli officials and Jewish groups strongly criticized the group over their membership acquisition methods and operational procedures but the organization stopped its membership process after receiving what they described as a “spam and harassment” attack.

In July, Israeli rights group B’Tselem and the Physicians for Human Rights organization accused Israel of committing genocide against Palestinians in Gaza.
